Bower named HCAC Player of the Week

BLUFFTON, Ohio - Senior Remi Bower (Deshler/Patrick Henry) led Bluffton to a 3-0 mark last week and has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week on offense. It marks the second time this season that Bower has been honored by the HCAC.

Remi put the Beavers on her back, leading Bluffton to the HCAC Tournament with 45 kills (5.0 KPS) as the Beavers went 3-0 and 2-0 in conference play. She also showed her versatility with 27 digs (3.0 DPS), three blocks and seven service aces. Bower's 53.5 points were more than two times the next highest Beaver.

Bluffton will now wait to see how the Transylvania-Franklin showdown on Tuesday turns out before the seedings are complete. The Beavers will be either the #3 seed or the #4 seed. They will travel to play in the HCAC semi-finals on Friday, Feb. 26, against an opponent to be determined. Transylvania, MSJ and Franklin will join the Beavers with the matchups set Tuesday night following Transylvania's 6 p.m. contest at Franklin.
