The Bluffton University Swim and Dive traveled to Manchester University to compete against Manchester on Saturday, Jan. 24. There were many notable finishes with a few records broken!
Sophomore Jami Baker (Lowell, Ind.) dominated the meet, taking first place in every event! Baker competed in the 1000-yard free to start off the meet. She also competed in the 500-yard free, getting a time of 6:04.85, which puts her 2nd all-time in the record books. Her final event was the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing with a time of 1:17.93.
Junior Juliana Brooks (Canton/McKinley) had outstanding performances. Brooks competed in the 200-yard freestyle, placing 1st with a time of 2:56.00. She also competed in the 100-yard backstroke, placing 2nd with a time of 1:25.75.
Sophomore Landon Gardner (Whitehall, Mich./Grand Haven) had amazing performances in all events while also breaking a couple of records along the way. Gardner competed in the 200-yard IM, placing 3rd with a time of 2:25.91, giving him the record! Gardner also competed in the 100-yard freestyle, placing 3rd with a time of 59.25. His final event for the afternoon was a 500-yard free, placing 2nd with a time of 5:53.32, which gives him another school record!
Bluffton heads to Franklin for a matchup with the Grizzlies on Saturday, Jan. 31. Go Beavers!
