BLUFFTON, Ohio - Sophomore Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) has been named the HCAC Women's Golf Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Earlham College Spring Invitational over the weekend.
Hemmelgarn notched her first collegiate victory, tying for top honors with a 162 after shooting 80 and 82! She shared the podium and HCAC Player of the Week honors with Alyssa Haverstraw from MSJ.
The Bluffton women placed 2nd on Saturday, April 19. Bluffton tallied a 337 one day after shooting a 343 as the Beavers finished the weekend with a 680, trailing just Mount St. Joseph.
Hemmelgarn is the third Bluffton women's golfer to earn Heartland Golfer of the Week honors this school year, following in the footsteps of seniors Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) and Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley)!
Bluffton is off this weekend before the season comes to an end at the Heartland Conference Championships on Friday through Sunday, May 2-4. Transylvania hosts the tournament at Kearney Hill Golf Club in Lexington, Ky.
