Hemmelgarn leads Earlham Spring Invite with an 80

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Bluffton University women's golf team stands second after day one of the Earlham College Spring Invational on Good Friday, April 18, 2025. The Beavers left themselves room for improvement after shooting a 334 which is 12 strokes back of Mount St. Joseph after round one.

The bright spot was very bright as Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) leads the tournament after day one! Her 80 has the sophomore two strokes ahead of a pair of talented Lions, Aly Haverstraw and Amy Smith.

Standing sixth, seventh and eighth are a trio of Beavers. Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) shot an 87, fellow senior Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Hilliard Bradley) an 88 and sophomore Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) an 89 as scoring was tough on Friday.

Sophomores Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) and Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) rounded out the coursework with scores of 94 and 102, respectively.

Bluffton is back in action on Saturday, April 19 for round two from the Richmond Elks Country Club.
