LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Bluffton University women's golf team leads the HCAC Preview by four strokes after day one at the Kearney Hills Golf Links! Bluffton shot a 322 in round one. The Beavers hold a four-shot edge over rival Mount St. Joseph and seven-stroke advantage over perennial-power Transylvania University.
Senior Kiley Cline (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) tore through the course with a one-over 74 and she leads friendly-rival Aly Haverstraw by two strokes after 18 holes. A 78 for Allie Waggener (Hilliard/Bradley) and 81 for Jordan Hemmelgarn (Coldwater) made it three Beavers in the top four slots heading to day two.
Sophomores Hope Manning (South Charleston/Southeastern) and Gabby Green (Beavercreek/Carroll) carded a pair of 89's, while Alyssa Begoon (New Madison/Tri-Village) rounded out the Saturday scoring with a 97 for the Beavers.
Bluffton will look to cap off the HCAC Preview with another stellar round in Lexington on Sunday, Oct. 13. Tee times to be determined.
