Bluffton women earn Mark Laesch Award

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) has announced the recipients for the 2020 Mark Laesch Awards. Teams were recognized based on improvement in adjusted stroke average per individual per round from the 2018-19 to 2019-20 seasons (denoted in parenthesis below).

Recipients included the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (49.78) in Division I, Division II's Kentucky Wesleyan College (31.25), and Bluffton University (55.92) from Division III.

The Bluffton Women's Golf Team shattered every team and individual record in school history during the 2019 fall campaign en route to the most significant improvement from 2018-19 to 2019-20 across all three divisions of NCAA women's golf!

The Women's Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women's collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 650 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
