BLUFFTON, Ohio - When the Heartland Conference Tournament came to a close following Earlham's thrilling 6-5 victory over Transylvania in the title game, the All-HCAC Tournament hardware was delivered to 12 outstanding competitors who put forth superlative performances at Kokomo High School over the weekend.
A pair of Beavers were recognized for their work on the turf. Taryn Hampton (Fostoria/Hopewell Louden) hit a pert .500 with six hits, three runs scored and three RBI. Her play in left field also factored in as the junior showed off the leather for Bluffton.
Grace Gronberg (Danville) went toe-to-toe with four of the best teams in the Heartland Conference, finishing the tournament with a 2-2 mark while tossing Bluffton's first 20.1 innings! She struck out seven batters and also showed out at the plate, hitting .417 with five safeties and two RBI.
