BLUFFTON, Ohio - Bluffton University is excited to announce Sean Kaighin as the Head Men's Soccer Coach. His first day is slated for Thursday, Aug. 1.

"I'm honored and excited to be the next Head Coach for Bluffton Men's Soccer as I believe we have a great opportunity ahead of us," said Kaighin. "Thank you to James Grandey, and the hiring committee, for trusting in me! Go Beavers!"

Kaighin has coached at the collegiate level since 2018. He served as head women's coach at Marietta College where Kaighin achieved one of the highest retention rates among campus athletic programs. While coaching at Marietta, he received the Staff Award for Mentoring from the Undergraduate Education Advisory Committee. He has also previously served as a women's volunteer assistant coach at Lourdes University.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Kaighin has most recently served as Boys Youth Director of Coaching at Greater Toledo Futbol Club. During his time with GTFC, Kaighin was responsible for recruiting numerous new players and significantly expanding the youth program. He's also served as Director of Boys and Girls Youth at Pacesetter Soccer Club. Kaighin has a Premier Diploma, Sports Psychology and Individual Mental Skills Diploma and Goalkeeping 1 Diploma from United Soccer Coaches. He also holds the USSF D certification. 

Kaighin earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Toledo in 2015, and an associate degree in adolescent education in 2013 from Owens Community College.  While attending Owens, Kaighin was a two-year captain and recognized with the All-American Academic Superior award.
