RICHMOND, Ind. - The Bluffton University men's golf team stands 8th out of 10 teams after a challenging day one from the Richmond Elks Country Club. Bluffton shot a 320, but the Beavers trail first-place Franklin by just 17 strokes heading into day two of the Earlham Spring Invitational.
Sharing team-low honors for Bluffton are senior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) and sophomore Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) who are tied for 17th after shooting identical 77's on Saturday. Sophomore Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) is just two strokes back with a 79.
Junior Carson Brubaker (Shelby) and sophomore Drake Sommer (Montpelier) rounded out the Blufton scoring with a pair of 87's on day one.
The Beavers will be back at Richmond Elks for the capper on Sunday, April 19.
