Bluffton opens Polar Beaver with a 319

BEAVERDAM - The Bluffton University men opened the 2026 Polar Beaver Easter Classic with a 319 on Good Friday, April 3. Bluffton stands 7th out of 13 squads heading into the finale on Saturday.

Sophomore Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) was in his bag with a one-over 73 on day one. He finished a double bogey, two singles and three birdies en route to 8th place after 18 holes. Senior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) and sophomore Gavin Ferguson (Burbank/Norwayne) shot 81 and 82, respectively, while junior Carson Brubaker (Shelby) and sophomore Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) rounded out the 'A' team with identical rounds of 83.

A pair of sophomores, Drake Sommer (Montpelier) and Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo), topped the 'B' squad with a couple 82's. Matt Owen (Lima/Shawnee) followed with an 85. Freshman Evan Kindred (Bellevue/Fremont Ross) chipped in with a 90, while Sergio Muniz (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hales) carded a 96. Kaden McWatters (Genoa/Genoa Area) capped off Good Friday with a 98.

Bluffton will be back at Hidden Creek for the final 18 holes on Saturday, April 4. The shotgun start is slated for 9:30 a.m.
