RICHMOND, Ky. - The Bluffton University men's golf team shot a 323 on day one of the HCAC Preview at Boone's Trace National Golf Course on a hot Saturday, Oct. 18, 2025. Tied for fifth place with HCAC heavyweight Transylvania, Bluffton is within striking distance of tournament-leading Rose-Hulman (303).
Senior Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) had his new putter rolling, firing a 76 which was good for 7th place after day one! Junior Carson Brubaker (Shelby) was three strokes back with a 79 as the veterans showed out on Saturday.
Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) chipped in with an 81 while fellow sophomores Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) and Drake Sommer (Montpelier) rounded out the starting five with 87 and 89, respectively.
Leading the Bluffton individuals was Matt Owen (Lima/Shawnee) who let it rip with an 82. Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo) and Gavin Ferguson (Burbank/Norwayne) shot 87 and 88, respectively.
Bluffton will be back at Boone's Trace for round two of the HCAC Preview on Sunday when the Beavers tie a bow on their 2025 fall slate.
