TECUMSEH, Mich. - The Bluffton Beavers golf squad would travel north to compete in the Irish Hills Intercollegiate at Adrian to compete against eight other teams. On a sunny Friday afternoon, they would finish the day with a score of 344 as a team, which would put them tied for sixth with Michigan-Dearborn.
Leading the Beavers with a score of 80 was Aaron Gerber (Vermilion), which was good enough to finish the day tied for 15th. Finishing the day with a score of 87 was Drake Sommer (Montpelier), who was followed up by Noah Macke (Columbus Grove), who tallied an 88. Rounding out the scorecard for Bluffton was Jackson Eichler (Atwater, Ohio / Waterloo), who finished with an 89. Matt Owen (Lima, Ohio / Shawnee) would also compete for the Beavers and card an 89 on the day as well.
Bluffton will look to rebound from day one and improve on the second day of the invitational. They will tee off at Tecumseh Golf Club at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13.
