LIMA, Ohio - The Bluffton Beavers men's golf squad teed off on day two of the ONU Joe Campoli Memorial at the Colonial Golf Club with a chance to improve on their performance from the first event on Sunday. While the Beavers finished fourth in the invite, they did build on and score better on day two.
Leading the charge for Bluffton was Jack Wyant (Mansfield/Lexington) who fired a 77, which finished tied for ninth in the invitational. Aaron Gerber (Vermilion) was right on his tail with an 80, enough to finish in the top 25. Rounding out the scorecard was Noah Macke (Columbus Grove) and Carson Brubaker (Shelby), who both finished the day shooting 83's.
The Beavers would also have a second team compete led by Jackson Eichler (Atwater/Waterloo) and Drake Sommer (Montpelier) who both scored 83's on the day. They would be followed up by Matt Owen (Lima/Shawnee) with an 86 and Sergio Muniz (Milwaukee, Wis./Nathan Hales) tallying an 89. Bluffton's second team would finish with a 341, but wouldn't be qualified to place as a team.
Kaden McWatters (Genoa/Genoa Area) would compete individually, firing a score of 89.
The Beavers will take some time to prepare for the Irish Hills Intercollegiate that takes place at the Tecumseh Golf Club on Friday, Sept. 12.
